London Street Art

During my time at the D&AD New Blood exhibition, I had time to explore London and photograph some street art.

London street art Conor Harrington

Amazing projections by artist Felice Varini. Objects are stenciled on using projectors to cast images onto the building. The perspective of the image changes as the viewer moves around the space, altering the viewing and how the piece is perceived. This technique could be harnessed and adapted for different buildings, in different cities as a way to alter the aesthetic.

IHATEBILLBOARDS,

GET INVOLVED AND CHANGE YOUR CITY

Process and Outcome.

Experiment to see the results of cutting the type in the centre and opening it up top and bottom. This is a more forceful looking style, although it creates interesting shadows depending on how the light is positioned.

I like the effect that is created when the background is changed. The different colours that shine through give different contrasts and tones. This piece could be photographed against different city textures and colours in the street. It would act as a street intervention and contrast the the grey, granite buildings.
